Week 1 in Blogging 201

Hello world!

I have decided to participate in Blogging 201 to learn some great tips about making my blog a better, more user friendly and a space that is more representative of me.Blogging U.You may have noticed slight changes and tweaks to the appearance of my blog but I haven’t any plans to make any huge scary changes for the moment. What I have liked about my week so far is that it has encouraged me to think about my reasons for blogging and what I hope to gain from doing it.

Why do I blog?

I love to write. Blogging relaxes me. Recently, I have been taking great solace in and pride in my blog. I was reminded of the positive feelings that I had for so many years when I was a regular blogger. I am able to come to a space where I can totally be myself and share things that I enjoy on an open forum. The fact that anyone reads and likes my posts is a huge bonus but it is not the influencing factor. For the years that I have blogged, I have enjoyed the community aspect of the thing. The fact that I can connect with people all over the world and read about what motivates, excites and amuses YOU is amazing. I love reading your blogs and the things that I read inspire future posts and influence the way I see the world.

Blogs have impact and one of my goals is to be able to touch one person’s life in a genuine and positive way. To inspire one person. To change someone’s outlook on an issue. To enlighten someone.

So roll on week 2!

Why do you blog?

  1. For me bogging is all about expressing myself and connecting with others. It’s made me realize that, despite where we live, we’re all so similar and I’m constantly inspired by others stories.

  2. I agree whole heartily with your reason for blogging, it is a form of release. This course give you a better insight to a variety of behind the scene gadgets. I certainly wouldn’t have changed the look of my page before.

It’s also interesting to see the enormous amount of things that people do in the world.

  3. I enjoy having my own space to share my thoughts and my fiction. It also allows for any readers of my books to find a place where they can connect with me. I also enjoy writing non-fiction and keeping that area of my toolkit intact.

    1. Thanks for your comment Craig. It’s nice to have your own space isn’t it? 🙂 I like the fact that I can connect with authors/writers and learn about their writing processes etc.
